On October 20, 2006, Sebastian Bach, former frontman of hair-metal band Skid Row will hit the road with Guns N’ Roses for their “Chinese Democracy” tour. Bach has long been connected with Guns N’ Roses—the vocalist opened a number of their European and U.S. Dates this past summer and Skid Row opened for them on their 1991 “Use Your Illusion” tour. Move over, iPod. The Zune has arrived. Microsoft announces its 30GB digital media player, equipped with wireless "beaming" functionality for Zune-to-Zune trading of music and photos. When guitar legend Pete Townshend is away from touring with The Who, he strips down to his mellow side for the In The Attic Webcasts, hosted by girlfriend singer/songwriter Rachel Fuller. Wrens' First Two Albums To Be Reissued
Wind-Up Records announced last week that they will reissue the Wrens’ first two records, 1994’s Silver and 1996’s Secaucus , on Nov. 14. Silver and Secaucus were originally released on Grass Records, which later became Wind-Up. Head of Wind-Up Alan Meltzer wished to polish the Wrens’ sound into more radio-friendly fare, but the band refused and moved to Absolutely Kosher in 1997. Toyota is now equipping their rides with tricked-out tracks thanks to the release of a new hip-hop CD sampler and a 12’’ vinyl of jazz/funk revivalists El Michels Affair with Wu-Tang Clan MC Raekwon. Citing complaints lodged by a Mumbai, India-based Christian organization, EMI India has announced that it will remove all copies of Christ Illusion, the latest LP from US-based heavy metal band Slayer, from shelves across the subcontinent.
