Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour will released his third solo album, On An Island, in the U.S. on Columbia Records March 7. The record is Columbia Records' first to use the eco-friendly CarbonNuetral technology, which attempts to restore the natural carbon-dioxide balance in the atmosphere by using environmentally friendly manufacturing. Folk-pop icon Paul Simon will release a new album, Surprise, on May 9. It'll be his first new album since 2000's You're The One. Produced in collaboration with Brian Eno (Talking Heads, U2), Surprise will feature guest appearances by Herbie Hancock, Steve Gadd and Bill Frisell. The record was mixed by Tchad Blake, who has worked with Tom Waits, Los Lobos and Phish.
