Don McLean releases retrospective
Don McLean has steadily recorded and toured since Tapestry debuted in 1970. Along the way he found recognition with the iconic American Pie and Vincent. String Cheese Incident aids hurricane refugees
The String Cheese Incident and their publicity company Madison House are teaming up with non-profit organization Conscious Alliance to aid hurricane refugees in Houston. Over the last two days, Conscious Alliance has already secured $10,000 in donations. They have made arrangements with The Houston Food Bank, America’s Second Harvest Food Bank and Costco, and they will fill a Penske truck with food for hungry refugees. The String Cheese Incident arranged for several more trucks to arrive in Houston, and they are helping to mobilize the music community. Fundamental Records To Donate To Hurricane Relief
During September, Fundamental Records is donating 25 percent of all online sales to the American Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund. Donations will go out weekly. Dave Matthews Band to perform Hurricane Katrina benefit
On Sep. 12 at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, Colo., Dave Matthews Band will hold a benefit concert for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. DMB was already performing three sold-out shows at the venue September 9-11, but added the fourth show in light of the recent tragedy. Tickets for the show are $58.50, and Ticketmaster as well as DMB's direct ticketing company, Musictoday, will donate their respective service charges in support of the victims.
