The Good Wife Review: "The Seven Day Rule" (Episode 4.13)
I’ve never been to law school. I’ve never litigated a case or worked at a law firm. But even I understand what the term “equity partner” means. read more

Enlightened Review: "Higher Power" (Episode 2.03)
The first 12 episodes of Enlightened’s short run have all focused in large part on Amy Jellicoe, and, in reality, “Higher Power” is still essentially about her. read more

30 Rock Review: "A Goon's Deed in a Weary World" (Episode 7.11)
30 Rock is the rare TV series that didn’t overstay its welcome on our season-pass managers. read more
1600 Penn Review: "Meet the Parent" (Episode 1.04)
Even though 1600 Penn can’t seem to nail down the characters that it does have, the introduction of D.B. does seem promising. Bringing D.B. into the mix, as well as increased material for Marshall, could at least make 1600 Penn more intriguing than it has been thus far. read more
Archer Review: "The Wind Cries Mary" (Episode 4.02)
Only a week ago, we got two big bombshells: that Malory is now married and that Barry is hunting Archer from space. Yet with the exception of a passing mention of Mr. Cadillac, no mention is made to these big moments. It’s great to see ISIS balanced in the ways they should be, and also to have Olymphant in a fun comedic role, but in the larger scheme of things, it all feels sort of inconsequential. read more
Parks and Recreation Review: "Women in Garbage" (Episode 5.11)
The main storyline for “Women in Garbage” is so close to a stereotypical Parks and Recreation plot that it almost hits the point of self-parody. It doesn’t, of course, but it’s easy to see how it could’ve gone down that road. Essentially Leslie finds out that not enough women are working in Pawnee’s government, and after learning that it’s particularly misogynistic in the trash department decides to prove that women can do just as good a job as men at picking up garbage. She and April spend the rest of the episode either picking up trash or being frustrated at... read more
American Horror Story Review: "Madness Ends" (Episode 2.13)
For a show that has featured aliens, human experiments, mutilations, torture, the wearing of human skin and (in an image I’ll never quite recover from) a grown man breastfeeding, American Horror Story: Asylum ended its season more like a Lifetime movie-of-the-week than the outrageous show it has been all season long. In the present day, we learn that Lana Winters has become something of a cross between Barbara Walters and Truman Capote. She’s written six best sellers and is the country’s premier interviewer. She realized early on that TV was where it was at—that people needed the visual images. Lana... read more
Modern Family Review: "Fulgencio" (Episode 4.13)
If Modern Family was taking two steps forward and one step back, at least we would be getting somewhere ... slowly, but somewhere. read more
Nashville Review: "You Win Again" (Episode 1.11)
'Nashville' has been a little perplexing since it returning for the second half of its inaugural season. The country soap opera has hit some snags throughout its short run, but eventually hit its stride and grabbed some award nominations and validated itself among the heavy hitters. read more
The Mindy Project Review: "Hooking Up is Hard" (Episode 1.12)
It is time to stage an intervention. If the show is going to become viable and live to see a season two, certain things have to happen. read more
New Girl Review: "Pepperwood" (Episode 2.14)
It is sometimes nice to just watch these five people go on weird adventures that don’t really have any basis in the continual story of the show. There’s no mention of relationships or curiosity as to the future of their lives, just a weird mystery and Schmidt’s toenails. While it is enjoyable to see an episode where these characters just act insane, that lack of story in the larger picture does bring some disappointment, even if the episode is a lot of fun and hilarious still. read more
Ben and Kate Review: "Bake Off" (Episode 1.13)
With the unfortunate Tommy aside, “Bake Off” gives each of the characters a way to spotlight their unique gifts they bring to the show. If only Tommy could join in on the fun in a more substantial way, “Bake Off” would have been one of Ben and Kate’s most solidly rounded episodes to date. read more
Go On Review: "Comeback Player of the Year" (Episode 1.14)
Usually, 'Go On' feels like Matthew Perry is the entire show. His character controls the pace and comedy of an entire episode with a few well-written subplots for other characters that feel like afterthoughts, but that balance is what works. read more
Cougar Town Review: "Between Two Worlds" (Episode 4.03)
Poor Grayson. It must be a little exhausting to be married to Jules. read more
Justified Review: "Truth and Consequences" (Episode 4.03)
