See 10 Stills from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

With director Peter Jackson’s wonderfully executed video blogs, fans have been given an extremely in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at The Hobbit. The access goes even deeper as Entertainment Weekly releases 10 stills from Jackson’s upcoming film, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

The photos feature images of everyone’s favorite cave-dweller, Gollum; Ian McKellan reprising his role as Gandalf the Grey, a young Bilbo Baggins played by Martin Freeman, and the ragtag dozen of dwarves with their leader Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage).

The images also depict important scenes from The Hobbit including Gandalf’s return to Hobbiton to recruit Bilbo and the journey through the Mirkwood Forest.
