Our third day of Sundance featured lots of movie watching and party-hopping. Highlights included Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s directorial debut Don Jon’s Addiction and a documentary on Muscle Shoals.
Gordon-Levitt’s Don Jon is a New Jersey club-goer with a porn addiction. It’s a funny look at the ways men objectify women and women objectify men, and has a lot of heart for a movie about porn.
“I’m always fascinated by how people connect to each other or fail to and objectify each other,” he said after the screening.
Muscle Shoals goes far beyond the typical musical history documentary with cinematic sweep and excellent storytelling instincts.
