Counterpoint Festival - Day Two Recap
Arriving on the scene a little bit late for day two of Counterpoint Music Festival (I’m sure I wasn’t the only one after what I saw on day one), I was just in time to catch Washed Out on the main stage. One thing that immediately sets Counterpoint apart from many other outdoor festivals is the proximity of the two main stages; the Point stage and the Counterpoint stage sit side by side and the music is non-stop, with one act picking up the party as soon as the one next door lets up. Washed Out picked up their set... read more

Counterpoint Festival - Day 1 Recap
I’d like to think I would know what to expect driving up to a weekend-long camping festival, but my assumptions about Counterpoint were out the window with the six neon ballerinas who climbed out of the tiny sedan in front of me as I drove up to the festival grounds Thursday evening. Glowsticks and garments aside, there were two different stages playing music for the fest’s opening night, with sets from Abakus and Stokeswood leading off the party before the sun even went down. Although there was plenty going on around the festival grounds, I found myself staking out the... read more

DeLuna Fest Day Two : Photos and Recap
On day two of DeLuna Fest, the breeze was high and the crowd was as thick as the hangover. Lights Resolve took the GoPensacola stage at 3:30, and it was obvious why the crowd grew. Reich gave a coy nod of approval to bikini-clad members of the audience. They sang “Dreaming of Love” and the lyrics proclaimed “This is the start of something new and different.” Between sets, guests gathered in tents to buy their favorite bands’ merchandise or stared at the walls in the “To Write Love on Her Arms” tent. Here, guests wrote their fears and dreams, humorous... read more

DeLuna Fest Day One : Photos and Recap
Every once in a while you get a day when the temperature is a perfect 80 degrees and the blue skies are barely grazed with clouds; it was on one of these perfect days that Deluna Fest began. Pulling into Pensacola, a massive Farris wheel spun in front of the bay and the Pensacola Beach water tower stood like a beacon for the masses coming to town for three days of music, sand and sun. The gates opened at 2:05 and the crowd stampeded in like a parking lot Pamplona. Hungry patrons dined on delicacies, like the “Damn it to... read more
