Album Stream: Listen to Pierce Pettis's new album That Kind of Love

I've known Pierce since our college days when I could show up for his gigs several times a week to get a brilliant songwriter fix and fortunately he tours a lot and comes through my hometown 2 or 3 times a year.

Very few songwriters can nail a mood or a moment in a lyric so perfectly and without resorting to cliche. That, and irresistable melodies that get under your skin, have always been his forte and this time he's outdone himself. These not a single stiff on here but never has anyone captured the reason we dance better than him and co-writer Greta Larson in "To Dance" and "I Am Nothing" simply says so much in so few words. His Mark Heard songs are always wonderful and he just wails on Winchester's "Talk Memphis."

This one is a must-have and a keeper! You'll hang on to every word.
