I love this album. Chris Funk is imaginative with his guitar work, especially in the first three tracks, and the lyrics are beautiful. This will be on a lot of favorite lists at the end of the year, and by god.., if it's not, it should be.
I'm a big Decemberists fan, and I love the Crane Wife. Possibly my favorite of their albums thus far. That said, Hazards was my least favorite, until I heard them play it live at ACL last weekend. I'm sure that I would have liked it a bit more if I ever had time to listen to music elsewhere than my iPod, but the best stereo could not have made this piece of art stand out like it does on stage. Incredible. I could hardly believe I was watching the Decemberists.

Interesting review.
(I wasn't a fan of The Crane Wife, but I do like The Hazards of Love.)
