Just look at his musical career so far: his two major acts, Nickel Creek and Punch Brothers, have helped define the modern bluegrass landscape during the 21st century. Between his virtuosic mandolin abilities and his impeccable songwriting, the man is simply a force to be reckoned with—no matter what the project. That track record continues into his recent collaboration with Michael Daves on their forthcoming collaborative record Sleep With One Eye Open—an album recorded at the Third Man Records studio in Nashville, Tenn.
