Trading off roles as a musician, music producer, author, entrepreneur, filmmaker and philanthropist, its no surprise that on his sixth release, Dave Stewart recruited Bob Dylan to co-write the LP’s standout track “Worth The Waiting For.”
Stewart himself is no stranger to collaboration. Besides his legendary partnership with Annie Lennox in the genre-bending Eurythmics, the artist has produced and co-written tracks for everyone from Stevie Nicks to Katy Perry. In fact, Stewart was one of the main forces behind Joss Stone’s newest record LP1, co-producing and co-writing the record.
With so many blindingly unique side-projects, it’s easy to overlook Stewart’s personal endeavors that have served as the backbone of his success-laced career that has spanned a staggering three decades. The artist’s latest LP, The Blackbird Diaries (Razor & Tie/Surfdog Records/Weapons of Mass Entertainment), not only showcases Stewart’s classically diverse talent, but also boasts a slew of guest appearances including: Stevie Nicks, Martina McBride, Colbie Caillat and The Secret Sisters.
The perfect introduction to the record, “Worth The Waiting For” is familiar from the start, blending Stewart’s warm vocals with soulful background accompaniment. Listen to it in the player below.
