Video Premiere: Mason Jennings - "Rudy"

Mason Jennings’ second music video premiere with Paste in support of his new album Minnesota was animated by the songwriter himself. “I draw a lot but had never tried animating before. I had some of my drawings animated for me for a video a few years ago for the song ’Ain’t No Friend Of Mine’ but I really wanted to try the actual animation myself,” Jennings said. He began working with a computer program for beginners called Animationish and created the entire video with it. “I love working in parameters and setting up limits for a project. That’s where my creativity feels most comfortable, with music too,” Jennings said.

For the next several Thursdays, we’ll be premiering a new video from his forthcoming LP. “Rudy” is a story told in the classic folk sense—watch the video below.
