For their fifth studio album, Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers worked closely with producer Mark Weinberg to assemble an album that captured their personality and musical identity. For the most part, on this latest album Gift Horse, you’ll find songs with narratives based on memories, playing into the album’s overall theme: appreciation for what you have. Kellogg says that the album title comes directly from the old saying “Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.” Kellogg sees the album as a testament to the gratitude he has for everything from life, his career, his family, and his country.
You can listen to Gift Horse, out in its entirety in the player below. It will also be the Amazon MP3 Daily Deal on Oct. 11.
