Blitzen Trapper’s “Taking It Easy Too Long,” off their sixth studio album, provides nectar for the youthful. But youth is not necessarily transposable for young, as the Portland, Ore. natives continues to remain authentic to their roots even after a decade of brewing music. Their consistent Americana sound crafted over their past five albums has not been abandoned and with good reason—it is their sound, their honey, their identifier.
Their most recent record, American Goldwing, came out in Sept. 2011, roughly one year since their previous album Destroyer of the Void. With appearances last year on Fallon and Letterman, the past two years have been busy, but highly productive for the group.
Blitzen Trapper stopped by for a Live From Paste during the course of their tour last fall. The band will head back on tour this spring for a string of West Coast dates. Check out both their new video, directed by drummer Brian Koch, and their upcoming dates below.
