Song Premiere: Dar Williams - "I Am The One Who Will Remember Everything"

January 10, 2012  |  1:30pm

On her first album in four years, singer-songwriter Dar Williams delves deep into the metaphors of Greek mythology. Her 10-track, ninth studio LP, entitled In the Time of Gods, drops April 17 via Razor & Tie.

Known for her socially aware lyrics, Williams does not stray from current issues on her latest album. In fact, she uses the parables of mythology to attack them and attach a timeless feeling to her music and the moral and political topics she examines.

“We are evolving in time,” says Williams, “and that’s what you’re allowed to do with mythology-let it evolve and show who your Parthenon is now.”

Williams’ new album also features special guests appearances by Grammy-nominated folk singer Shawn Colvin and multi-instrumentalist Larry Campbell (who, most notably, played on Bob Dylan’s 2001 album, Love and Theft).

In the Time of Gods kicks off with single “I Am The One Who Will Remember Everything” and we have the exclusive premiere of the track.
