Video Premiere: Beth Jeans Houghton & The Hooves of Destiny - “Sweet Tooth Bird”

Newcastle-based band Beth Jeans Houghton & The Hooves of Destiny recorded a session their forthcoming single on a boat. No, not like the The Lonely Island, but onboard an actual lightship moored on the Thames River in England.

The group’s debut album Yours Truly, Cellophane Nose, was produced by Ben Hiller (Blur, Elbow, Depeche Mode) and will be released on Feb. 28.

Lead single, “Sweet Tooth Bird,” comes out Feb. 21 with the accompanying B-side called “Telephone. According to Houghton, “Sweet Tooth Bird” is about “Something that is so good it’s bad. I think there is this strange feeling of guilt that we all get once we reach a stage of happiness. It is human nature to exist with grief and sadness.”
