Video Premiere: Ximena Sariñana - "Echo Park"

“Even though I had a name and a platinum-selling record in Mexico or whatever, coming here you start from scratch basically,” Ximena Sariñana told us last summer. “It was like having to prove myself all over again to everybody… Suddenly I found myself working in a different country where nobody knew who I was, barely even knew how to pronounce my name.”

Sariñana, a singer that originally made her name in Mexico both musically and as an actress, is in the middle of that change after releasing her first English-language album on Warner Brothers Records.

But if her appearances at Coachella and South by Southwest this year are any indication, some big changes are in her future in the States. Her self-titled album was released last summer and features the song “Echo Park,” for which Sariñana just shot a playful video. The video shows off Sariñana and friends’ personalities as they goof off at a bowling alley in Mexico City. Check out Sariñana’s video below and her Facebook page here.
