Video Premiere: Malka Spigel - "See It Sideways"

Malka Spigel, co-founder of Githead and the Israeli rock band Minimal Compact, plans to release her latest album, Every Day Is Like The First Day, Sept. 4 on Swim. In preparation for the release, Spigel has debuted a music video for the song, “See It Sideways,” a laid-back, existential rock tune.

The four-minute video places Spigel on the streets of London, where she strolls without direction, but with some undefinable purpose that is never discovered. Renate Ziegermann directed the video, which spotlights Spigel’s well-established vocals surrounded by a wash of throaty bass and droning guitar.

Spigel’s third solo album, Every Day Is Like The First Day, has been described as being filled with the freshness and promise of a debut. It arrives in stores on on Sept. 3 and also features collaborations with her husband/Wire frontman Colin Newman, Johnny Marr, Matthew Sims and Adam Ramsay.
