Album Stream: JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound - "I Got High" 7"

Last fall, JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound released their second full-length album, Want More. Following up on their success, the has released a limited edition 7” record, featuring “I Got High” and “River.”

JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound bring a high energy and soulful sweetness to their music in a big way. Their songs, however, are more than just catchy tunes. “Despite being an up-tempo dance number, “I Got High” was written in that post-break up period where you’re just in a haze,” the band explains.

“It’s about making a decision to party instead of feeling bad…it makes for good dancing because it’s a dance song that’s aware that sometimes you hit the town to celebrate life and other times to escape it.”
