Song Premiere: Cotton Jones - "About the Game"

As Cotton Jones embark on their latest tour in support of Dr. Dog, the Maryland indie rockers follow up their latest album, Tall Hours in the Glowstream, with a limited-edition seven inch. With only 500 records pressed, “About the Game” features sugary summer vocals and part-time gospel, full-time acoustic-folk sound. The lyrics weave between old-timey pop to a soft, folky croon—all equally matched by joyful, yet somber percussion. Cotton Jones’ new release comes out courtesy of Porchlight Records, and includes “About the Game” and its accompanying b-side, “That Wheel.”

The record can be ordered through the label’s web site, which comes with an immediate download of the two tracks. Digitally copies can also be downloaded through iTunes, starting on Aug. 21.
