To celebrate Yep Roc’s upcoming 15th anniversary weekend on Oct. 11-13, power-pop group Fountains of Wayne are releasing a cover of the Moody Blues’ 1971 hit, “The Story in Your Eyes.” The track, originally a B-side off their 2011 album, Sky Full of Holes, stays true to the Moody Blues’ atmosphere and riffs, but adds a different note of eccentric poppy sunshine reminiscent of “Somebody To Love.”

The North Carolina-based record label will be celebrating their anniversary weekend with a three-day concert at the Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro, N.C. The blowout will feature a large range of acts, including Nick Lowe, Robyn Hitchcock, Eleni Mandell, John Doe, Chatham County Line and, of course, Fountains of Wayne.

Check out our premiere of Fountains of Wayne’s “The Story of You Eyes” below.
