Video Premiere: Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit - “Danko Manuel”

October 26, 2012  |  11:30am

On Nov. 20, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit will be releasing Live From Alabama on Lightning Rod Records/Thirty Tigers. Recorded over the course of a couple of sold out shows in August of 2012 at the WorkPlay Theater in Birmingham and Crossroads in Huntsville, this will be the band’s first full-length live album. In anticipation of this release, we have an exclusive premiere of the band performing the track “Danko Manuel,” a tribute to the late members of The Band that originally appeared on the Drive By Truckers album The Dirty South.

The video, shot in black and white, captures Isbell and his band in an intimate and heartfelt performance. The song highlights the musical talents of the band as well as their captivating stage presence.
