It’s been seven years since Austin natives Quiet Company released their debut album, Shine Honesty. Since then they’ve released two follow-up albums, Everyone You Love Will Be Happy Soon and We Are All Where We Belong, as well as the EP Songs for Staying In.
Now the band, led by frontman Taylor Muse, has decided to revisit their debut album. Instead of rereleasing the original recordings, however, they’ve rerecorded the Shine Honesty and added two new tracks, “Gun Control Means Using Both Hands” and “And You Said It Was Pretty Here.” The product is A Dead Man On My Back: Shine Honesty Revisited.
The album will be released digitally and at select retailers on April 9, but for now you can preorder your copy here.
Watch a video for the album’s song “The Emasculated Man and the City That Swallowed Him” below.
We’re also excited to have Quiet Company play the Paste Showcase at the SXSW Interactive conference in the band’s hometown of Austin. The event is set to take place at the Blackheart on March 10.
