Song Premiere: Jim Guthrie - "Difference A Day Makes"

Music  |  Audio

Toronto-based Jim Guthrie, formerly of the band Islands, is returning to his solo career with his first LP in 10 years.

During that period, Guthrie kept busy composing and recording music for television, film and video games. Formerly both members of indie rock band Islands, Guthrie and Nick Thorburn formed the folk-pop duo Human Highway in 2009, released the album Moody Motorcycle and toured the U.S.

In 2012, Guthrie returned to the project he started five years earlier, collaborating with engineer Mark Lawson (Arcade Fire). Cleverly titled Takes Time, the album features 10 tracks with a cover of John Loudermilk’s “Turn Me On.”

Takes Time will released on May 7. Check out the first single “Difference A Day Makes” in the player below.
