Video Premiere: Overseas - "Ghost To Be"

April 12, 2013  |  11:30am

Overseas, the supergroup consisting of David Bazan (Pedro the Lion, Headphones), Will Johnson (Centro-matic) and brothers Matt and Bubba Kadane (Bedhead, The New Year), recently announced their eponymous debut album. Blending the voices of Bazan and Johnson and building upon the rich friendships between members outside of music, it’s certainly an exciting collaboration for fans of many genres.

Overseas is slated for release on June 11, but fortunately listeners won’t have to wait that long for new content from the group. The band has just released a video for the first single, “Ghost To Be,” directed by Keven McAlester. McAlester actually shot the footage for the video before he knew it would be used with the song.

“I shot the video over the course of a year, with the idea that I’d shoot the whole thing first and then convince someone to let me make a music video with it,” said McAlester. “Once the guys in Overseas agreed to use it, I couldn’t have been happier that I’d done it this way.”
