When we caught Philadelphia band Toy Soldiers live at Aloft Washington National Harbor, the band was just beginning a Kickstarter campaign for their forthcoming album The Maybe Boys. The album, now set for release in September, is quite a departure from their debut full-length Whisper Down The Lane.
“Whisper Down the Lane is like kindergarten recess, a bunch of random kids making an audible Jackson Pollock painting at the schoolyard,”said lead singer Ron Gallo in a recent press release. “The Maybe Boys is like five blood brothers reunited for our third time at Mardi Gras in New Orleans.”
The Maybe Boys is set for release on Sept. 10 via Rocket Science Ventures.
“We’re still having a great time but we’re warmed up. We’ve got our sea legs and we’re a cohesive unit,” said Gallo. “There’s a history and a chemistry bound by some sort of loose weird magic on this record.”
Get a glimpse of the magic with the band’s first single, Tell the Teller, which you can stream in the player below.
