Video Premiere: Foy Vance - "Closed Hand, Full of Friends"

July 31, 2013  |  3:45pm

Foy Vance was born in Northern Ireland, but became passionate about traditional music as he traveled the American South with his father during his youth. After Vance’s return to Ireland he began crafting his own music and kicked off a burgeoning music career.

Over the last 7 years Vance has released several EPs and live albums, along with his debut full length, Hope. Vance has toured extensively in support of these albums, opening for the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Michael Kiwanuka, Marcus Foster, Snow Patrol, and Ed Sheeran.

Vance is now set to release his follow up to Hope. Joy of Nothing will be released on August 27th via Vance’s new label Glassnote (Mumford & Sons, Phoenix). A music video for the album’s title track has already been released and now Vance and his band have recorded a live video for “Closed Hand, Full of Friends”, the album’s opening track.
