Video Premiere: Sting Discusses The Music of Tyneside

August 15, 2013  |  12:00pm

As previously reported, this fall Sting is set to release his first album of original content since 2003’s Sacred Love. The album, entitled The Last Ship, draws inspiration from the artist’s forthcoming pay of the same name, and was produced by Rob Mathes (Eric Clapton, Elton John, Lou Reed).

In anticipation of the record’s release next month, Sting has created a series of videos discussing the influences on this record. Watch the clip below to hear a bit about how the folk music of Tyneside influences the sound on The Last Ship.

The Last Ship is set for release on Sept. 24, 2013 via Cherrytree/Interscope/A&M Records.
