The Autumn Defense, a band with members fans might recognize as Wilco’s Patrick Sansone and John Stirratt, has just announced the forthcoming release of their latest album Fifth.
The fittingly titled fifth studio album and their first since 2010’s Once Around, Fifth features 12 tracks and was recorded at Chicago’s Black Sheep and Minbal studios as well as in Sansone’s own Mixon Administration, which is also home to the album’s other producer Josh Shapera.
“It was great to finally spend some time in the studio tracking with the complete live band we’ve had for the last seven or so years,” says Sansone in the band’s latest press release. “We’ve been working with our drummer, Greg, for over a decade and having the rest of the guys with us really helped create the vibe of this album. Of all of our records, this one feels the most like the work of a band.”
Fifth is set for release on Jan. 28 via YepRoc. Stream the album’s first single, “None of This Will Matter
