It may have been a while since The Parson Red Heads’ last LP Yearling, but that doesn’t mean that their forthcoming album Orb Weaver is going to be the product of immeasurable studio time. Instead, the band focused on capturing the spontaneous elements of their performances, allowing the songs to develop on their own and giving potential new fans an insight into what a live show might be like.
“We’ve always made records that were more thought-out,” says guitarist and vocalist Evan Way in a recent press release. “When we play live, we play more like a rock band. We wanted to show that more aggressive side of us, the more rock-oriented side.”
Orb Weaver was produced by Scott McCaughey and is set for release on Oct. 1. Stream a new track from the album, “Every Mile,” in the player below.
