Album Stream: Elsinore - PUSH/PULL
Elsinore is an indie-pop quartet out of Illinois, and although we haven’t been treated to new music from the group since 2010’s Yes Yes Yes, it seems the wait has been worth it. The band’s forthcoming album, PUSH/PULL was meticulously practiced and recorded, and was a year-and-a-half in the making before the work was finally complete. With the help of producer Beau Sorenson, known for his previous projects with Death Cab for Cutie and Bob Mould, Elsinore built on the strengths of Yes Yes Yes for a sound that’s fuller but still distinctly their sound.
“PUSH/PULL was written and recorded during a tectonic time in my personal life,” said bandmember Ryan Groff. “Between battling constant tension and personal differences within the band and being courted by producer Beau Sorenson, it was a juggling act of wanting to move forward musically because of the record we could make with Beau and figuring out how to actually do it.”
The band experienced a few lineup changes, but ultimately recorded an effort they’re proud to present to fans.
“We went through an amazing transformation and have in some ways started totally fresh with a new lineup and this record,” said Groff. "PUSH/PULL wouldn’t have been the same without all of these things, and it’s great because of them.”
PUSH/PULL is set for release on Oct. 15. Stream the album in its entirety in the player below.
