Buffalo Clover, the Nashville roots-rock band that continuously serves up sophisticated lyrics with a southern influence, hits the mark once again with new single “Misery.”
“Jeremy had a dream that he was at a show and this fictitious band was playing this riff over and over. He made a demo of it when he woke up,” said frontworman Margo Price of the writing process with husband and guitarist, Jeremy Ivey. “I wrote all of the words later.”
As the title might suggest, the song touches on darker moments in the couple’s life, but the writing process served as somewhat of a coping mechanism.
“We had been going through an incredibly rough year with the loss of our son, Ezra,” said Price. “Both of us were coping differently and trying to hold it all together during that time. The song is about coping with such an unexpected death, trying to find meaning in life and religion and even about my own mortality to a certain extent.”
