Knoxville bluegrass band The Black Lillies didn’t need much time to accumulate a fan base. 2011’s 100 Miles of Wreckage garnered acclaim from several well-respected media outlets and earned the band a multitude of appearances on-stage at Nashville’s legendary Grand Ole Opry. Now, The Black Lillies continue their tradition of excellence with the announcement of forthcoming album Runaway Freeway Blues and a national headlining tour. Feeding People is a project led by 19-year-old Jessie Jones, a vocalist who has drawn inspiration from greats like Grace Slick and Janice Joplin. The band gained notoriety with its unique sound fairly quickly, and after playing only a few shows the talented teenagers were invited to play electronic club Low End Theory, sharing a stage with Radiohead’s Thom Yorke.
