The Ocean Blue, a band that catapulted to success with their debut record in 1989, has announced the release of their forthcoming full-length Ultramarine. Although the band self-released several recordings in the past few years after leaving major labels behind, Ultramarine will be released via Korda Records on Mar. 19. “This record unfolded in slow motion, at a glacial pace,” said band singer/songwriter David Schelzel in a recent press release. Many fans of Eric Burdon may know him as the legendary vocalist of The Animals, but Burdon has new solo material to share this year. Burdon recently announced his forthcoming solo album ’Til Your River Runs Dry. Singer-songwriter Erin McKeown is back with her seventh studio album Manifestra, and to celebrate the album’s release today she has also released the official video for her song “Proof.” The video is a visual anomale featuring a fresh-faced McKeown amid a stark background and covered in paint. As McKeown sings the lyrics to the track, the paint appears to be moving backwards, dripping up and off of McKeown. It’s a visual representation of the the stain of a relationship being lifted off of McKeown’s shoulders. For the second year in a row, Paste teamed up with Sennheiser at the Newport Folk Festival to capture intimate recordings of some of our favorite artists. In 2012, we stepped it up a notch by providing wireless headphones to attendees, giving fans a glimpse into this unique experience. When we met up with Graverobbers, singer James Maple’s guitar picking and echoing voice fit perfectly with the rustic atmosphere of the Rhode Island shore. Reigning from Orlando, Fla., the five-piece(often six-piece) band Day Joy has released the video for the single “Go To Sleep, Mess,” which shares the title with the band’s debut LP out Feb. 12. Listed as one of our Top Florida Bands You Should Listen To Now, the band incorporates banjos and ukuleles with synthesizers and steady percussion to create their somewhat-psychedelic sound. Grace Potter had a whirlwind of a year in 2012. Known for her high-energy performances with the Nocturnals, their non-stop touring schedule and acclaimed release The Lion The Beast The Beat has catapulted Potter and the Nocs into genre-crossing fame. When the tour stopped in Nashville, Tenn. for a two-night run of sold-out shows at the Ryman Auditorium, Potter took time out to stop in the CMT studios for an unplugged performance.
