Two beloved North Carolina companies have conspired to raise the state’s per capita diabetes ranking.
Cheerwine, based in Salisbury, N.C., since 1917, makes Cherry Coke seem like a botched knock-off of its signature soda. Krispy Kreme, whose hot doughnuts I’ve introduced to scores of visiting Yankees, are face-meltingly delicious.
But if you happen to visit North Carolina during the month of July, you can get Cheerwine Kreme Filled Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. Our blood-sugar level just went up thinking about them.
Thanks to Reid Davis for tip.
