Every year there are a handful of reports of attacks and deaths via various underwater creatures (RIP Steve Irwin), but this video is a little something on the lighter side.
While free diving near the Wahine Memorial off the coast of Wellington, New Zealand earlier this year, award-winning freelance documentary filmmaker Victor Huang encountered a formidable foe: the octopus.
Rather than screaming like a little school girl (as any of us here at Paste inevitably would), Huang resisted the urge to flee and decided to film the majestic creature. Little did he know the wily octopus would want to do some filming of its own — instead of attacking Huang, it wrapped its tentacles around the camera and began to swim off with it while it was still filming.
Luckily Huang, in another impressive feat of bravery rivaling Chuck Norris, decided to follow it and was eventually able to wrestle the camera away. The end result is a little bit of the ocean through the perspective of a highly intelligent sea creature with what we can only explain as a genuine interest in film. Should someone be contacting James Cameron about this? Is it time for Titanic 2?

WTF was the idiot diving with a spear gun, camera and obviously not a buddy, moron!
