We’ve already compiled rather exhaustively what would happen if the Mad Men dramatis personae tweeted.
Now, thanks to the magic of the Intertubes and a creative fan, we have an idea of what it would be like if Betty Draper joined the mommy blogger set.
Welcome to the Drapers, the brainchild of Helen Klein Ross (who also won a Shorty Award for her tweets as @BettyDraper), written from the perspective of the model-turned-model homemaker, fuses the best of ’60s domestic knowhow with 21st-century digital savvy.
Welcome to the Drapers stays pretty true to the time period in voice and content — recent posts include YouTube videos of footage from the 1964 Innsbruck Olympics, musings on Mary McCarthy’s The Group and guides to spicing up an oatmeal breakfast, ‘60s style, for the kids. It’s also an amusing character study of the Draper family, with delightful little touches like Sally’s macaroni artwork. Awwww.
Oh, and there’s quite a few vintage-tastic recipes. Including one for chocolate cake. With bourbon. Mmmm.
(Big ups to Helen Klein Ross for the linkage.)

Thank you for the read and kind words. I must say it isn't easy getting photos out via a Royal Typewriter. Glad you like the Bourbon Cake recipe.
Bottoms up!
Thank you for the read and kind words. I can't believe so many people are interested in the life of an ordinary housewife. Glad you liked the bourbon cake recipe. You have no idea how hard it is to publish Kodachrome slides using a Royal typewriter.
Bottoms up,
@BettyDraper
