Awesome of the Day: Andre 3000's Comeback

Perhaps inspired by his buddy Big Boi’s tremendous new solo album, OutKast’s spacier half—Andre “3000” Benjamin—is showing signs of a comeback. This year has seen no fewer than four new Dre songs, all of which are promising indeed.

First came the creepy-crawly funk of “Royal Flush” with Big Boi. Then came the duo of “Lookin’ 4 Ya” (another Big Boi track) and the superlative remix of Ciara’s “Ride,” one of the year’s most perfect songs in any genre.

Then earlier this week, The Fader (via Nah Right) posted yet another new Dre song. It’s a soulful cut called “I Do,” and it’s yet another sign that The Drought of Dre may be ending. With a little luck, the next era of OutKast is around the corner.
