The Periodic Table of Rockin'

If this existed when we were in seventh grade, we probably would have paid a little more attention in science class.

Behold, the Periodic Table of Rockin’. All your favorite classic rock and punk acts (Also, Weird Al!) are assigned an atomic mass and sorted into categories.

The Alkalai Metals (get it?) consist of Metallica, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, among others. Rootsier groups like Creedence Clearwater Revival make up the Alkaine Earth metals, while the Sex Pistols and the Ramones lead the Actinides.

Clicking on a particular band will take you to a description of why that particular act is deserves the spot on the table. The Jimi Hendrix description reads, “My friend, of all the reasons one may ask to be excused, kissing the sky is the most rockin’.”

Check it out here, and pretend like you’re doing something educational with your time.
