Cookie Monster's SNL Audition Tape

He’s already been a guest of The Colbert Report, so why not Saturday Night Live. Yesterday, Cookie Monster launched what he hopes to be a viral campaign for a slot on the long-running NBC sketch comedy. His audition tape shows the Sesame Street icon devouring (but not defusing) a bomb in “Macarooner” and singing “Cookie Face” in a parody of Lady Gaga (his dress is made of cookies).

This wouldn’t be the first time a Muppet appeared on SNL. They were part of the original season back in 1975, and Kermit returned to duet with Robert DeNiro in 2004.

If he’s successful, we just hope he’s part of a Golden Girls skit.
