The house from Pixar’s Up has been created in real life, balloons and all. The folks at National Geographic recreated Carl Fredricksen’s airborne abode at a private airfield in Los Angeles as a part of an upcoming series, How Hard Can it Be?, which premieres this fall.
The 16’ X 16’ house was 18’ tall, and was carried by 300 8’ colored weather balloons. The flight lasted approximately one hour, and set a new world record for the largest balloon cluster flight ever attempted.
