What better way to honor guitar legend Jimi Hendrix than with a portrait made of guitar picks?

U.K. mosaic artist Ed Chapman created a mosaic of the iconic artist using 5000 picks. The piece was recently auctioned for £23,000 ($37,545.20) at Cancer Research U.K.’s Sound & Vision event.

Chapman has created similar pieces in the past, auctioning off a John Lennon piece at the same event in 2009.
