Since the breakup of modern rock superstars The White Stripes earlier this year, there’s been a gaping hole in our hearts. Of Montreal’s spot-on cover of “Fell in Love with a Girl” helps soften the blow a little. The group departed from their over-the-top psych-rock craziness to produce a rocking cover of the Stripes’ classic for The Onion’s AV Club. They took the totally awesome original and somehow made it even more awesome. While it’s not a reunion of Jack and Meg, it’s certainly the next best thing.
