Samuel L. Jackson Narrates 'Go the Fuck to Sleep'

We fell in love with Adam Mansbach’s over-honest bedtime story Go the Fuck to Sleep when it surfaced months back, but the hardcover storybook for completely spent parents is out—as is the audiobook. And the choice for narrator couldn’t have been more perfect: Samuel L. Jackson.

“I was anxious to do the audio-read of this book,” says Jackson. “I remember all those times that I did read to my daughter when she was that age, and everybody tells you reading stories puts kids to sleep, but that never works. … I did say ‘go the fuck to sleep’ to her a lot.’ I think at some point, she would look at me when I’d come in her room and she’d say, ‘Go the fuck to sleep, Daddy?’ And I’d say, ‘Yeah, go the fuck to sleep.’”

As a harp gently plays a lullabye, Jackson reads:

The cats nestle close to their kittens
The lambs have laid down with the sheep
You’re cozy and warm in your bed, my dear
Please go the fuck to sleep.
