Hear Every Sample Kanye West Has Used

Whether you think he’s a creative genius or a raging lunatic, sampling is one thing Kanye West has always been known for. The video below goes through every sample he ever used for any number of his songs from albums up to 808s and Heartbreaks, but doesn’t include his newest album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

The first thing to note is Kanye’s amazingly wide and historical record collection. The samples from soul, disco, rock and pop make his use of Bon Iver’s track “Woods” in his newest album make a lot more sense.

Secondly, its pretty interesting how some songs are barely changed at all when sampled while some use Kanye’s distinctive “chipmunk” speeding up such as the melody from the Tears for Fears song “Memories Fade”, which Kanye actually just sings in his song “Coldest Winter”. Check it out below:
