It seems like the days of the great, arty movie posters are long past. Every once in a while, a poster will come along that tries to be different or bold, and it’s always a welcome change, but for the most part posters wind up looking too generic. In fact some new posters may even look too similar, like you may have seen them before. These trends have been caught on Movies.com, and it’s almost shocking how similar some of these posters are.

The website has bunched up the posters into different groupings that include “the comedies where the leads stand back to back”, “two or more people in bed together”, “woman in a red dress”, or the “action film that uses mostly red and black colors”, which could also probably be called “the Nicolas Cage poster”.
