Absence might make the heart grow fonder, but Kanye West’s return to his Twitter rants of the past got a little ridiculous last night. The rapper and clothing designer went all “H.A.M.;" on the social networking website, tweeting 91 times to make up for lost time and to clarify a few things about his fashion line. In the process, West quoted Leonardo Da Vinci and George Bernard Shaw.
Here’s a few things we learned by taking a look at West’s feed where he clarified how he got into designing and talked about his newest creative project, DONDA. You can check out the whole thing here, if you dare.
West:
- is only allowed to design one pair of sneakers every two years
- opened a design studio in Paris and met “the master (designer) Azzedine Alaia
- is in discussion to become the creative director for the Jetsons’ movie
- took a cue from My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy collaborator Justin Vernon and dissed the Grammys, but still feels validated by his awards
- has started a new design company called DONDA, named after his mother. DONDA is supposed to create “products and experiences that people want and can afford,” will have 22 divisions and will include “a team of architects, graphic designers, directors musicians, producers, AnRs, writers, publicist, social media experts, app guys, managers, car designers, clothing designers, DJs, video game designers, publishers, tech guys, lawyers, bankers, nutritionist, doctors, scientist, teachers”
- is currently working on a new “7 screen experience” that looks pretty amazing
- cares about some of the “7 billion people on the planet now” who haven’t heard of him
- wants to create a summer school with Spike Jonze
- has not bought a piece of jewelry or a new car in two years
- asked people to reach out to DONDA at their gmail address: contactDONDA@gmail.com
This obviously isn’t the first time the rapper has gone a little over the top, but it’s great to see him sharing his thoughts in 140-character bursts again.
