It’s always great to see something returned to its rightful owner, especially when that “something” is Reading Rainbow’s Twitter account and that someone is Levar Burton. Maybe it was his appearance on Community that showed the former Reading Rainbow host how important the show was to some people. Because just yesterday, Burton tried contacting the account @readingrainbow, which hadn’t tweeted in three years, to try to reach out to fans of the show.

At first, Burton tweeted directly at the account, but then moved on to higher authorities, and within hours Twitter seems to have taken care of that problem for him.

It took the help of many outspoken Twitter users, all using the hashtag #bydhttmwfi. And quickly — amazingly quickly, actually— Burton tweeted that he had assumed control over the account. But that’s not the best part — hours later, Burton hinted that Reading Rainbow would probably relaunch as an app. We’re happy to see @ReadingRainbow in the right hands.

#bydhttmwfi still isn’t ringing any bells? Watch the video below.
