Watch Mastodon's Leviathan Album Covered on Piano in One Take
This takes dedication. Although you might have already worn the grooves out on the recently reissued pressing of Mastodon’s epic Moby Dick-influenced Leviathan, a real die-hard named Sam Abbott decided to learn the whole thing from start to finish on piano. That means Abbott had to learn and arrange piano parts for a few of the most punishing metal songs in the last decade, including “Blood and Thunder,” “Iron Tusk” and “Megalodon.”
If you’ve got 40 minutes, the one-take rendition of the album is definitely worth a listen. Thanks to Prefix for the tip.
