The End is Nigh: Kansas Apocalypse-Proof Condos Sell Out

If pop culture and apocalyptic fiction has told us anything, it’s that the world won’t end in a whimper, but instead in a teeth-nashing, brain-eating nightmare. Luckily Larry Hall, a condo developer out of Denver is prepared. Below a field in Concordia, Kan., Hall has retrofitted a Cold War-era missile silo into a post-apocalypse safe house.

The condos sell between $1-2 million and have the ability to be self-sustaining for five years. It is also one of the few structures in the world that could survive a nuclear attack. The condos have a military-grade security system and artificial windows to help simulate different landscapes.

If this is the security-tight dream home you’ve been looking for, you’re too late. The silo’s seven residential floors are sold out.

More info on the silo here.
